Sundarban is the name of a natural wonder. It's the largest mangrove timber or saline timber in the world. The Sundarbans has a total area of about 10,000 square kilometers, which lies jointly between Bangladesh and India. The area of the Bangladesh part of the Sundarbans is 6,017 square kilometers. The Sundarbans of Bangladesh consists of corridor of Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Patuakhali and Barguna sections. In 1997, UNESCO recognized the Sundarbans as a World Heritage Site.

Rich in biodiversity, the Sundarbans is an understatement if it's called a gallery of leafage and fauna. The Sundarbans covers an area of 1,874 square kilometers conforming of shells and wetlands. The Sundarbans are known to be home to numerous species of brutes, including the Royal Bengal Tiger, a variety of raspberries, chitra deer, crocodiles and snakes. There are about 350 species of shops, 120 species of fish, 270 species of raspberries, 42 species of mammals, 35 reptiles and 8 amphibians. This timber is named Sundarban after the beautiful tree.

Good time to visit Sundarbans

November to February is the swish time to visit Sundarbans. Rivers and swell are calm during this time, so all the sights of Sundarbans can be visited. Nearest from Khulna and Mongla, Karamjal and Herbaria can be visited in one day at any time of the time. But to get a taste of the original Sundarbans, you have to go to the remote places.

Sundarbans sightseeing places

Sundarbans is a huge area. A certain number of places in the Sundarbans are permitted to be visited by the Forest Department. Sundarbans can be visited through Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira and Barguna. still, utmost sightseers travel through Mongla in Khulna and Bagerhat. Notable places to visit from Khulna and Mongla include Karamjal, Herbaria, Kachikhali, Katka, Jamtala, Hiron Point and Dublar Char.

Karamjal Nearest to Mongla is Karamjal. It's basically a deer and crocodile lineage center of the timber department. There are rustic pool trails through the timber, deer, crocodiles, monkeys and various speciesoftrees.However, also the taste of milk will be mixed with black water, If there is no occasion to see brutes and raspberries in the depths of the Sundarbans.

Harbaria Harbaria is one of the rubberneck places of Sundarbans. The distance from Mongla is about 20 km. The main attraction also's the rustic trail through the timber. It takes around 30 beats to complete the trail. There is a lotus pond and watch palace. The entire Harbaria can be seen from the watch palace. A walk through the rustic ground inside the timber will awaken one's sense of adventure and excitement.

Katka Bay of Bengal south of Katka Forest Station. And the beautiful sanctuary is near the ocean. One of the swish goods about Cuttack is that you can see herds of wild deer. There is also a rustic trail inside the timber. A herd of deer can be seen after a 15- minute walk along the trail through the Keora timber.

Cuttack Beach A short walk along the tail of Cuttack Point leads to Cuttack Sea Beach. Bay of Bengal can be seen also. Cuttack Sea Beach is truly clean and beautiful. also, artworks of red cranks are painted across the beach.

Jamtola Beach Jamtola is near Cuttack. There is an observation palace also, from this palace you can catch a regard of some of the beauty of the Sundarbans. And if you are lucky, you can see a deer or a tiger from also. Jamtala ocean beach can be seen by walking about 3 km from Jamtala Ghat.

Mandarbaria Beach A part of Mandarbaria Beach is considered to be still unexplored. Sunrise and evening can be seenfromhere.However, you have to go to Sundarbans through Satkhira, If you want to go to Mandarbari.

Hiron Point Deer, monkeys, guisaps and crocodiles can be seen while walking along the beautiful rustic expressways of Hiron Point. Bengal tiger are sometimes seen also too.

Dublar Char Dublar Char is a small char

in the Sundarbans area. The sluice flowing through the Dubla Char flows into the Bay of Bengal. Famous for Hindu holy cataracts, Rasmela and Shutki. From October to February- during these five months, around 10,000 captures have made temporary agreements there. Along with fishing goes the drying of dry goods.

Ways to travel to Sundarbans

You can't go alone or in a group of 2- 3 people to go deep intheSundarbans.However, you must pay a fixed figure from the Forest Office and travel with a security guard, If you want to travel inside the Sundarbans. And to visit all the places there is no volition except launch and boat( Sundarban Ship).

How to go to Sundarbans

still, you can go through Khulna or you can go from Mongla, If you want to go to Sundarbans. These two routes are the most popular. And the angel leaving from Khulna enters the Sundarbans through Mongla.

You can go directly from Dhaka to Khulna by machine or train. Non-AC machine chow from Gulistan, Syedabad and Gabtali to Khulna is Tk 600- 700 and AC machine chow is Tk700- 1400. The Sundarban Express train leaves from Dhaka in the morning. And the Chitra Express left in the evening. Fares range from Tk 505 to Tk 1731 according to seat class.

There is a direct semi chairman coach machine from Dhaka to Mongla Mongla. It will bring Tk 450- 500 to go to Mongla by Comfort Line, Digant, Rajdhani, Arman Paribahan non AC machine.

still, you have to take a machine to Khulna, If you want to take a good machine to Mongla. In this case, you have to go down to a place called Katakhali before Khulna. From there you can go to Mongla at a distance of 32 km by machine, Mahindra, CNG or bike. Or you can go to Khulna from there to Mongla.

It may take 7- 10 hours to reach Khulna or Mongla from Dhaka by machine. Bus expeditions may take longer due to ferry crossings. still, once the Padma Setu is functional, the trip time will be greatly reduced.

Sundarbans trip charges

When traveling with a stint agency, all freights are generally included in the packages, so there is no need to pay separate freights. still, if you travel in one day or manage yourself, also you have to pay the entrance figure for each place.

If you want to visit Sundarbans in a day at low cost also you can visit Mongla to Karamjal or Herbariadistributioncenter.However, you can visit both places in one day, If you leave beforehand in the morning from Mongla.

Boats can be hired for the whole day from Mongla ferry levee. Just visiting Karamjal will bring 1000 to 1500 taka. To go to Karamjal and Herbaria two places will bring from 3500 to 5000 taka. A good quality troller should be fixed if you want to go to herbaria. And in the case of rent, you must bargain.

Karamjal entry ticket price is 23 rupees per person. And Herbaria entry ticket price is 100 rupees. either, if you want to visit Herbaria, you have to take authorization and companion from the office there. Lunch should be taken from Mongla.

In budget stint plan, if a numerous people group together from Dhaka, the estimated cost will be Tk 2500- 3000perperson.However, the cost will be less, If you visit Karamjal only.

still, there is accommodation there, If you go around by boat or launch. piecemeal from this, if you are traveling privately, there are arrangements to stay at Kochikhali at Tiger Point in Sundarbans, Neelkamal at Hiran Point and Katkay Forest Division Rest Houses.


Tourism Corporation has taverns to stay in Mangala. Pasur Port has some standard taverns for rubberneck accommodation.

Hotel Royal, Castle Salam, Hotel Tiger Garden, Hotel West Inn, Hotel City Inn, Hotel Millenniumetc. are notable among the domestic taverns in Khulna municipality.

still, you will find some standard taverns also, If you want to stay in Satkhira municipality. In Munshiganj, Shyamnagar, NGO Sushilan has overnight accommodation in Resthouse and Dormitory.

Sundarbans Travel Tips

Mobile network is not available in multitudinous places of Sundarbans. Teletalk network is available in some places.

Get everything you need before you get on the boat.

Carry safe food and water.

Carry essential medicines and first aid supplies.

Know the agency well before reserving the boat/ package.

Make sure in advance which boat/ launch you will take.

Avoid special leaves if you want to reduce trip charges.

Keep dupe of National ID card along with it.

If budget is not a problem also you can travel in luxury boat.
